South Mecklenburg High School, located in Charlotte, NC, is a great place for students who are interested in athletics. The school offers a variety of athletic programs for both girls and boys sports, including basketball, football, soccer, volleyball, tennis, track and field, cross country, swimming, and wrestling. The football and basketball programs are particularly popular at South Mecklenburg High School. The school has a long-standing rivalry with nearby schools, such as Myers Park High School, Providence High School, and Ardrey Kell High School. South Mecklenburg's football team is part of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) and competes in the 4A classification.
